Jute Bag Questions
Q. What is jute?
Coined the “golden fiber,’ jute is one of the strongest vegetable
fibers found in nature, and is how some 4 million farmers in India
earn their living. It is a rain-fed crop with little need for fertilizer
or pesticides. Twinned with Freeset’s use of water based dyes, the
result is a biodegradable, earth friendly product. The jute for Freeset bags is sourced locally. Jute is 100% bio-degradable and therefore, environmentally-friendly. Jute fibres can also be recycled.
Q. How do I care for my Freeset jute bag?
To clean your jute bag we recommend light sponging to remove any dirt.
The inside laminate can be cleaned using a cloth and detergent. Do not
put in a tumble dryer as the laminate may melt causing damage to both
your bag and the dryer.
Q. Why choose Freeset promotional and delegate bags?
With so many “ethical” claims being made by businesses today it is
difficult to know where you stand. Despite grand statements it is easy
to lose the reality behind the claims and to know how our purchasing
choices impact others lives. Freeset seeks to differ. We believe
it’s essential that trade is fair and want to take fair trade to the
next step.
Q. What are the prices for custom bags and minimum order size?
The cost per bag varies for custom orders based on the style of
bag, number of print colours, and the size of the order. The minimum order for custom bags is 100 of the same bag. Feel free to contact us for a quote on a custom bag you are
considering.
Q. When can I expect to receive my product?
The production time for Freeset is about 3 weeks, plus an additional
week for air shipments from the date you submit your order. Larger orders over 500 bags will require more
lead time. Don't forget to give yourself time to decided on your bag style, colour and design! (wholesale/stock orders ship immediately)
Q. What about my artwork format? Are there artwork charges?
No, there are no extra art work charges if you are able to
provide your logo or design in an acceptable format and quality. You can send your artwork in Jpeg, Gif, or any Photoshop and
Illustrator formats. Be sure that your file has a 300dpi or higher
quality to ensure the best printing. If you would like assistance with designing your bag, we can assist you. ($35/hr)
Q. How many colors can I use on my design?
Freeset can produce a custom bag for you with up to
5 colors in the design.
Q. What is used to screen the bags?
Freeset uses the Texcron dying pigment system when screen printing jute bags and t-shirts. Texcron paints have been tested for harmful substances according to
Oeko-Tex Standard 100 product class 1. (class 1 is defined as suitable for “Textiles and textile toys for babies

pigments are mixed) is K2 White supplied by Zydex. It is a water based
